Best time to go to Corfu for a perfect weather and where to go?
When is the best time to go to Corfu?
The best time to go to Corfu is from April to October. A popular holiday destination for sun and sea lovers, the island also offers plenty of interest for history and cultural heritage enthusiasts. Therefore, the choice of your vacation dates will mainly depend on what you want to do on the spot and the experiences you want to have.
Compared to other Greek islands, such as Rhodes for example, Corfu is more prone to rain between November and March. The favorable period to go there with good weather conditions is therefore shorter.
- To enjoy the beach and go diving, summer is ideal. From June to September, Corfu's translucent waters display ideal temperatures and maximum underwater visibility. Perfect for swimming between sunbathing sessions!
- For hiking, prefer spring, from April to June, when temperatures start to warm up and wildflowers are in full bloom. Nature is lush and the sun is shining, without being too hot for walking.
- For exploring historical sites, the shoulder seasons are ideal. In spring as well as in autumn, all conditions are met to fully appreciate the visits.
- For relaxation and sharing good times with locals, a winter stay is entirely possible. Although showers may occur, the island regains its tranquility, taverns are welcoming, and you can stroll through medieval alleys and wander in picturesque villages without a tourist in sight.
When to go to Corfu to avoid crowds? Like in most of the country, the tourist high season lasts from June to August, with a peak in attendance in the latter month. It is therefore preferable to visit the island between mid-May and late June or between early September and mid-October. The climate is very pleasant, the water is good, hotels offer attractive prices, and most importantly, there are far fewer people!
