Climate and Weather in Dominica
The Dominica is a Caribbean island that is located in the heart of the Lesser Antilles. It is located south of Guadeloupe and north of Martinique. Far to the west, one finds the coasts of Honduras and Nicaragua as well as the great vastness of the Atlantic Ocean.
The climate of the Dominica is tropical with two seasons (a rainy season and a dry season), with temperatures varying very little during the year and a cyclonic risk between June and September.
The weather in the Dominica is hot and humid from the months of June to December. This is known as the rainy season and throughout the island, rainfall is truly abundant. From Marigot Roseau, towards Pennsville and all the way to Pirekua, heavy rains fall regularly throughout the territory. It is also the hottest time of year with temperatures climb generally very high.
The climate is milder in the Dominica from January to May which is categorized as the dry season. If the rain is still present, it is much less important. This more favorable weather allows for the enjoyment of the warm temperatures while exploring the island in all its depths and corners. Whether on the cliffs, beaches, mountains or forests, this nice weather will allow you to marvel at the beauty which the island is abundant of.
February and March seem to be the best months to discover this part of the Caribbean as temperatures are high but not overwhelming, the rains are much rarer than the rest of the year and the risk of cyclones is nonexistent.
